In many cases as rubber ages, it hardens. This increases the dynamic stiffness and may cause additional energy to be transmitted into the supporting structure, when used in dynamic applications, eg vibrating screen suspension.

DYNAMIC APPLICATIONS SUCH AS SCREEN DRIVES

When the motorbase is connected directly to the screen via the vee belts, energy from the screen is transmitted back and possibility into the supporting structure. Selection of the correct motor base will assist in minimising this problem.

Vee belts cannot be tensioned by the deflection method. Below is a LEVERLINK ST series motorbase.

VIBRATING SCREEN DRIVES via LAYSHAFT

Many screens today are driven via a layshaft. That is the electric motor and motor base are not connected directly to the vibrating screen. Vee belts can be tensioned by the deflection method.  Below is a LEVERLINK 2G series motorbase.

REDUCING VEE BELT AND PULLEY COSTS

Leverlink’s rubber torsional spring motorbases assist in maintaining the correct vee belt tension as specified by the belt manufacturer.  The photo below shows LEVERLINK VL series motorbases.

LEVERLINK ZV SERIES MOTORBASES

The ZV range of motorbases is designed for overhead drives.  The base plate is thickened to accept jacking bolts when used in an overhead drive pump application.  The photo below shows a LEVERLINK ZV series motorbase.

SHAFT ALLIGNMENT
